BRANDING

Black Magic Box is a subscription service that celebrates Black horror across film, literature, art, and music. Each month, subscribers receive a curated collection of original and licensed art, pins, stickers, and exclusive merch. I designed this box as a love letter to Black culture, drawing inspiration from 1980s Black design trends through the use of bold primary colors. The rough edges add a gritty texture, evoking the raw energy of horror while echoing the shapes found in Southern Black folk art—where much of African American horror and folklore originates. The patterns throughout the design are inspired by traditional West African prints, honoring the richness of the Black diaspora.
